Iso-Lateral Lat Pulldown

Why it matters

The Iso-Lateral Lat Pulldown builds strength and size in your latissimus dorsi, biceps and upper back. As a compound movement, it trains several muscles together and carries over to real-world strength and power.

How to do it

  1. Adjust the seat and any pads so the working joint lines up with the machine’s pivot, set the pin to your working weight, and keep contact with the support pad throughout.
  2. Set your grip and start from a full hang or fully stretched position.
  3. Set your shoulders down away from your ears before the first rep.
  4. Drive your elbows down toward your hips.
  5. Pull until your chest reaches your hands.
  6. Lower under control back to a full stretch.
