Why it matters

The Suspension Trainer Squat builds strength and size in your quadriceps, glutes, hamstrings and rectus abdominis. As a compound movement, it trains several muscles together and carries over to real-world strength and power.

How to do it

  1. Check the anchor is secure and set the strap length, then load your weight gradually to test it before full reps.
  2. Set your feet about shoulder-width with your toes turned out slightly.
  3. Take a full breath into your belly and brace before you descend.
  4. Break at the hips and knees together and lower under control.
  5. Descend until your thighs reach at least parallel to the floor.
  6. Drive through the middle of your foot to stand back up.
