Kettlebell High Pull

Starting position for the Kettlebell High Pull
Starting position — Kettlebell High Pull

Why it matters

The Kettlebell High Pull builds strength and size in your glutes, trapezius, hamstrings and quadriceps. As a compound movement, it trains several muscles together and carries over to real-world strength and power.

How to do it

  1. Set the bell in a solid rack or hold position with your wrist stacked and neutral.
  2. Set a stable, athletic base with your feet under your hips.
  3. Load your hips and take a breath before the explosive rep.
  4. Be explosive on the way up, moving the load or your body as fast as possible.
  5. Absorb the landing or return softly through your hips and knees.
  6. Reset to a stable, balanced position before the next rep.
