Why it matters

The Guillotine Press builds strength and size in your chest. As a compound movement, it trains several muscles together and carries over to real-world strength and power.

How to do it

  1. Load the bar evenly on both sides and secure it with collars before you lift.
  2. Set your grip evenly and pull your shoulder blades down and together.
  3. Set your feet and create full-body tension before you begin.
  4. Lower the load under control toward the middle of your chest.
  5. Keep your forearms vertical as you lower.
  6. Press back to a full lockout.
