Band Triceps Pushdown

Starting position for the Band Triceps Pushdown
Starting position — Band Triceps Pushdown

Why it matters

The Triceps Pushdown builds strength and size in your triceps. As an isolation movement, it targets those muscles directly to build size and balance.

How to do it

  1. Anchor the band securely, check there is no slack at the start, and expect the tension to rise through the range.
  2. Set your upper arms in position and keep your elbows pointing forward.
  3. Start with the resistance under control and your elbows fixed.
  4. Straighten your elbows to a full lockout.
  5. Squeeze your triceps at full lockout.
  6. Bend your elbows under control back to the start.
