Reverse Pec Deck

Starting position for the Reverse Pec Deck
Starting position — Reverse Pec Deck

Why it matters

The Reverse Pec Deck builds strength and size in your rear deltoids. As an isolation movement, it targets those muscles directly to build size and balance.

How to do it

  1. Adjust the seat and any pads so the working joint lines up with the machine’s pivot, set the pin to your working weight, and keep contact with the support pad throughout.
  2. Set a tall torso with a slight bend in your elbows.
  3. Start with the load under control at your sides or front.
  4. Lead with your elbows and raise the load to shoulder height.
  5. Pause briefly at the top.
  6. Lower the load under control to the start.
